By far the greatest talking point at ISE 2016 was the huge 1.2mm LED screen on the Lang AV stand. The 51.84 square metre Leyard screen, with a resolution of 7680 x 4320, was very impressive. Only a company such as Lang would think ‘8k content is what we need, so let’s build an 8k camera!’ It was a beautiful screen, and with great content. But it was interesting to note that it wasn’t run with Leyard processing, but Barco instead. (I noticed that the same had been done on the Leyard booth, with Barco processing being used in place of their own).
As an exhibitor, the show extending to 4 days meant a great opportunity on the last day to take a look around. And with a reported 11% rise in attendees this showed that adding the extra day was a success. What would be interesting to understand however, is whether people spent more time at the show this year than in previous years.
