digiLED ZEUS® Gains Made in Britain Mark.
Invented in the UK by LED veteran Tom Mudd, digiLED ZEUS® is a globally patented energy and carbon-saving system for LED screens and more. It not only powers screens down so they use ZERO power when not in use, but also soft-starts these power-hungry machines at the touch of a button or via IP schedules when it’s time to wake them up. A simple tool to a complex problem that significantly cuts the money wasted on power consumption and the needless carbon emissions that go with it.
The system is now live on more than 360+ installs worldwide, across stadia, arenas, immersive spaces, corporate sites and attractions. Tom Mudd, Head of Technical at digiLED, said: “It was always the plan to prototype digiLED ZEUS® in the UK, but why not manufacture here too? When I came up with the idea in early 2020 it set the wheels in motion. Today I can walk onto the UK production line and see my idea coming together, in a place where I can keep a close eye on quality and the finished product. In digiLED HQ, Surrey, England, we build the single-way digiLED ZEUS® head-ends and the bespoke units for specific clients. The fact that these are not shipped in from China, adding freight and CO2, and that it’s helping people cut their screens’ impact on the planet, is the icing on the cake for me.”
Why digiLED ZEUS® is needed?
Overnight, most LED screens are left in a pseudo-standby, showing a black video or test pattern during downtime. In that state they can still draw as much as 30% of their maximum power while doing nothing. Over the life of a screen, those wasted hours can add up to vast sums of money and tonnes of needless carbon emissions.
Huddersfield Town AFC implemented digiLED ZEUS® on their main in-stadium screen before the 2025 season:

Based on today’s energy costs, the new main screen at ACCU Stadium, powered down with digiLED ZEUS®, will save upwards of £125,000 in wasted energy over the next seven years, while cutting the stadium’s carbon emissions by 138 tonnes.
