State-of-the-art sports stadium screen wows Lehigh Valley Phantoms fans
GoVision has delivered a spectacular new ice hockey center-hung scoreboard and 262m mid-tier ribbon display at PPL Center, with digiLED providing support through its bespoke LED screen design services.
2,200 square feet of LED creates stunning 4 sided center-hung LED display
The state-of-the-art center-hung screen debuted on October 11, 2025, during the Lehigh Valley Phantoms’ season-opening home game, where the team secured a 5-2 victory over the Belleville Senators.
Nestled in downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania, the PPL Center is a premier multi-purpose arena with a seating capacity of 8,500 for hockey games and up to 10,000 for concerts and events.
Since its opening in 2014, it has been the home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, and a vibrant hub for sports and entertainment in the region.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on this new LED display project. This new solution ensures the Phantoms remain on the cutting edge of technology, delivering the energy and excitement their fans deserve every night.”
Matt Ritter, Senior Vice President – GoVision
A sports stadium screen upgraded in both size & spec
The new center-hung LED display uses digiLED’s PROTEK P3.9 technology, and features two sideline screens measuring 24.6’ x 22.97’ and two endline screens measuring 22.97’ x 22.97’. The ice hockey scoreboard comprises nearly 2,200 square feet – almost double the size of its predecessor.
With a 3.91mm pixel pitch, the display is made up from 378 LED cabinets and 3,024 individual LED tiles, delivering ultra-high-definition visuals with a total of 13.3 million pixels. This configuration provides three times the picture clarity of the previous board.
The “seamless” corners were cleverly designed, surpassing many NHL stadium scoreboards, delivering a clean and immersive viewing experience that captivates fans.
“Whenever we work with GoVision, we are always amazed by the creativity and expertise they bring to the table. Like any stadium project, engineering hurdles must be overcome, and the level of collaboration between the two design teams is something I am very proud of. The end result speaks for itself, and the PPL Center has a fantastic digital asset that will last for many years to come.”
Mike Hopkins, SVP Commercial Sales – digiLED
Next-level fan engagement starts with a better digital ice hockey scoreboard
Constructed over the summer, the digital scoreboard reflects PPL Center’s push to evolve with its audience and reinforces the arena’s place as a premier venue for live entertainment in the Lehigh Valley, officials said.
Sports display solutions for ice hockey
The new digital scoreboard screen turns every seat in the house into the best seat. Fans right up in the gods or tucked away in the corners now get massive, crystal-clear replays, live action close-ups, and all the fun stuff – kiss cams, celebrity look-alike spots, fan prompts, you name it. Suddenly everyone feels part of the show, not just the people down near the ice.
