Major broadcast LED screen upgrade transforms ITN Studio for flagship ITV programmes
dB Broadcast, the UK’s leading independent broadcast systems integrator, has successfully delivered a full LED screen upgrade of ITN’s Studio 1 at Gray’s Inn Road. The revamped space now serves as the new home for Good Morning Britain, ITV News, and ITV News London.
Broadcast ready LED screens improve legacy virtual production setup
The six-month project, which began in summer 2025, moves away from the virtual production system that had been running since 2004 and brings in modern LED technology instead.
The result is noticeably sharper pictures, better and more natural lighting, and a lot more flexibility for the teams on the floor.
All this was achieved without stopping live broadcasts – the team built a small temporary VR setup inside the studio to keep things running during the upgrade.
Flexible LED screen configurations allow for multi-use broadcast applications
The studio’s brand new state-of-the-art setup features six LED screens that can be setup in various configurations depending on the programme.
When combined, they form an impressive LED wall stretching 29.2 metres wide, delivering 47 million pixels in total.
The upgrade means three quite different shows – each with their own look and feel – can share the same studio smoothly, handling seven hours of ITV output every day, plus big events like general elections.

The LED displays deliver excellent clarity, reduced moiré and low power draw and BTU output.
