Parx Casino in Philadelphia and the evolution of its digiLED screen installations

In 2009, Twitter had recently appeared on the scene, Bitcoin had just been invented by the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto.

The same year, at Parx Casino – a thoroughbred horse racing venue and the largest casino gaming complex in Pennsylvania, digiLED installed three giant screens on the roof of the casino and one at the race track.

China Zero COVID Policy – Complications

It would appear that the LED industry has a significant problem about to hit us!

Shenzhen is to go into lock down with subways, buses and public transport generally shutting down, shops are empty and closing/closed, restaurants are closing and all Shenzhen residents instructed to stay at home, the initial expectation is that this will be for 2 weeks.

digiLED Screen Wows Passers By At Italian Retail Mall

Another installation at Galleria Commerciale Porta di Roma in Italy that we’re very proud of – high fidelity colour reproduction was key to this project as the screen needed to identically match the physical banner tower, to ensure advertisers logos were perfect, whilst also meeting the ultrawide viewing angles needed for a screen that runs parallel to the walkway underneath.

Another COVID-hit Chinese New Year

As we approach the Lunar New Year, it is clear that the celebrations in China will again differ from the norm.

Our Shenzhen based team are resigned to being unable to travel back to their hometowns to celebrate the Spring Festival as they would normally do.

James Hensman joins digiLED sales team

James joins digiLED as Sales Manager responsible for new business development and sales within the UK and has previously worked in a variety of different technology areas so comes to digiLED with excellent knowledge of display systems.

The year of the Tiger is the next major celebration in the lunisolar calendar (the traditional Chinese calendar) with New Year’s Day falling on 1st February 2022 according to the western calendar.

Every year, on October 1st, China celebrates National Day. This is the first day of a week of holidays, sometimes known as Golden Week (Japan also has a Golden Week holiday, but the two are not connected and celebrate different events).

Bring your digiLED screens out of hibernation

Now that most lockdown restrictions have been lifted, most we’d like to share some important advice on how to care for your digiLED screen as it comes out of hibernation.

We trust that your digiLED rental inventory will have been stored in a suitable warehouse and this of course means one where the temperature and humidity don’t fluctuate too wildly.
