An LED screen for sporting immersion
Ten years on from the first digiLED project at Parx Casino in Philadelphia, digiLED were asked back by their long term partners, Video WallTronics, to install two LED screens into the brand new Sportsbook, a multimillion dollar addition to the Parx Casino facilities.
digiLED were tasked with providing an all-encompassing, immersive visual experience that was able to play multiple feeds at the same time. The product chosen was digiLED’s digiTHIN Q, for its ability to create stunningly flat screens.
LED screen picture-in-picture
The first LED screen, a massive 165sqm, stretches the entire length of the Sportsbook. Both the left and right edges of the display curve around the contours of the room perfectly, thanks to the unique ability of the digiTHIN Q to create a seamless, faceted display.
The screen has multiple viewing options, it can be presented as either nine ‘beyond HD’ LED walls, or windowed off with various picture-in- picture configurations, giving the Sportsbook the possibility of showing up to 36 displays all at once. A key feature of digiLED’s digiTHIN Q2600 is reliability, which is critical for environments like the casino, where the screen will be in use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
Immersive lobby screen
The second LED screen that digiLED supplied is the marquee screen in the lobby. It has an angular design, wrapping the top and right-hand side of the entrance to the Sportsbook, enticing casino guests across the threshold.
digiLED’s digiTHIN Q was also used for this project to create a flawlessly flat display. digiLED met the tough deadlines for this project and finished on time for commissioning, meaning the grand opening timed perfectly with the renowned start to the American football season on the 8th August 2019.
